About Us

North-Aire has earned a reputation for providing some of the finest flight training available, with the individualized attention that all students require. Our facilities include classrooms, a student lounge, and a computer testing room. The lounge provides a place to relax and study before and after daily training. There is also a cafe in a nearby building.

The Prescott area is ideally suited for professional pilot training. The surrounding area, with its spectacular terrain, provides students the opportunity to experience flying in and around several different types of environments. Airport radar service areas, terminal control areas and airport traffic areas are all located nearby.

North-Aire's base of operations is Ernest A. Love Field, Prescott Municipal Airport, which is tower-controlled class Delta airspace with limited radar services, has published instrument approaches and is operational 24 hours a day. Prescott has parallel runways and a crosswind runway, eliminating departure and arrival delays often found at many other airports. The Prescott and Phoenix areas offer a multitude of published instrument approaches such as Instrument Landing Systems, Localizer, Localizer Backcourse, VOR, VOR/DME, NDB, RNAV, GPS and PAR approaches. This provides our students with the opportunity to fly every type of published instrument approach available in the United States. The area Flight Service Station is also located on the airport which makes it simple to get a personalized flight briefing.

North-Aire is a designated testing site for Laser Grade Computer Testing. This gives our students the opportunity to take each of the required FAA knowledge (written) exams on the premises. Practice tests are available on our personal computers, allowing each student to practice before each of the FAA written examinations.

Simulator Training is a vital part of any professional flight training program. North-Aire utilizes the latest in flight simulation technology. Our flight simulation department is equipped with an AST-300 simulator. The AST-300 is fully approved by the FAA and is used as a procedural trainer for both single and multiengine operations.

Additional facilities include student/instructor briefing areas and flight planning areas. Also available is a video viewing room, complete with a full library of video training tapes. Comprehensive weather reports, which include current satellite photographs, area and terminal forecasts, and weather depiction and diagnostic charts, are available. The hands-on analysis and interpretation of these graphical weather reports provides excellent meteorological training for our students.

We invite you to visit North-Aire and view our facilities, inspect the aircraft fleet and meet with other students and instructors. Please feel free to call and schedule a tour or e-mail us. We will be happy to meet you at the airport, help arrange accommodations during your stay, and show you some of the sights in the exciting Prescott area.

North-Aire is located in the Prescott, Arizona area. Local accommodations include the Antelope Hills Motel, which offers heated, air-conditioned, furnished apartments and rooms. Also within easy walking distance of North-Aire is a laundry, hair salon, grocery, pilot supply shop and an 18-hole golf course. Excellent meals and snacks are served at the Skyway Restaurant, located in the terminal building. The City of Prescott is 7 miles away, offering a variety of accommodations, restaurants, shopping and entertainment.

Many of our international students purchase automobiles upon their arrival in the United States. Students can expect to pay at least US$1,500.00 for a used car. Automobile rental is available at the airport if you so choose. The average price of fuel is approximately one-fourth of European prices but does vary with current economic conditions. Insurance coverage is mandatory in the state of Arizona. A state driver's license requires both a written and a driving test. Study aids and materials to help you obtain a license are available at North-Aire's offices.

Another option for transportation is to buy a motorcycle. Mopeds and motorcycles are available in the price range of US $250.00 to US$800.00. The licensing and insurance requirements are the same as for automobiles.
